Job summary

Kansas City Christian School’s Lil’ Panthers program is seeking an Early Education Floater to support preschoolers in a Christ-centered, state-licensed setting. The hourly role runs from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm, emphasizing safety, joy, and spiritual growth.

Under the direction of the Director of Early Education, you will help create a calm, structured environment, supervise lunch and nap times, and deliver engaging activities while communicating with families about child progress.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age (required)
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Experience working with preschool-aged children in a group setting (required)
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire (required)
• Strong personal commitment to Christian faith and alignment with the mission and values of Kansas City Christian School
• Active involvement in a local evangelical church
• Ability to work well as part of a team and follow directions from Director of Early Education
• Reliable, flexible, and patient with a nurturing heart for young learners

Responsibilities

• Prepare classroom for rest time
• Supervise children’s lunch time
• Supervise children during nap time; plan and implement gross motor activities, games and experiences during supervision of recess time
• Provide after school programming, including short activities and learning opportunities, snack and playground time
• Interface with parents about child progress and behavior in aftercare

KCC Lil’ Panthers is seeking a dedicated, Christ-centered individual to serve as the Early Education Floater for our Lil’ Panthers Program. This position is an hourly position from 11:30- to 5:30pm. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, has knowledge of licensing regulations, and is committed to fostering a safe, joyful, and spiritually enriching environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Licensing & Compliance

• Learn and follow rules and regulations of state licensing.
• Complete health and safety training and 16 hours of professional development training

Classroom Management

• Work with Director of Early Education to create a classroom environment that encourages learning, exploration and spiritual growth
• Promote a calm and organized learning environment where every learner feels safe and is able to learn
• Ability to work independently with a small group of children.

Spiritual Engagement

• Reflect the love of Christ in actions, words, and care for each child
• Encourage students' social-emotional and spiritual development through calm and consistent interactions
• Model patience, kindness, and grace throughout the day
