Job summary

North Florida Child Development seeks a dedicated preschool/infant-toddler classroom teacher to deliver developmentally appropriate activities, plan lessons aligned with Head Start standards, and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will collaborate with a Co‑Teacher, support families, conduct home visits, track attendance, and participate in required trainings such as Teaching Strategies Gold, Safe Sleep, and DEL courses to promote children's growth.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Head Start Performance Standards and Developmentally Appropriate Practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Early Childhood Education standards and licensing requirements.
• Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans and implement curriculum to foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Guide and facilitate classroom activities and equipment setup.
• Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment and conduct health checks.
• Observe and supervise children, ensuring appropriate teacher-child ratios.
• Support families and conduct home visits and conferences.
• Maintain and protect educational files and documentation.
• Attend meetings and trainings and participate in after-care or related programs.
