Job summary

Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida is seeking a Preschool Teacher to deliver quality early childhood education in our on-site childcare facilities. You will create and implement developmentally appropriate plans to foster cognitive, social and emotional growth while ensuring a safe, inclusive environment.

You will communicate with families, follow the Learning Beyond Paper Curriculum, and collaborate with staff to meet Florida health, safety and education standards.

Qualifications

  • ECE certification or degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Florida DCF, NAEYC, and School Readiness Coalition requirements.
  • Experience implementing Learning Beyond Paper Curriculum and Florida Standards in lesson planning.
  • Familiarity conducting developmental assessments on children.
  • Completion of 10 Hours of State-Mandated In-Service Training annually.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and guide children with developmentally appropriate lessons.
  • Prepare children for entrance into the VPK Program.
  • Follow lesson plans incorporating Language Arts, Art, Sensory, Music, Science, Math, PE, Dramatic Play, Self-Esteem and Self-Awareness.
  • Include multicultural activities to promote diversity.
  • Model positive discipline and redirection techniques.
  • Maintain safe, structured classroom routines and daily schedules.
  • Greet parents and maintain positive relationships with families.
  • Communicate progress with parents and share daily feedback.
  • Maintain daily reports for parents.
