Job summary

Pediatrics Plus is seeking a Classroom Lead Teacher to manage the classroom, assess each child, and develop individualized treatment plans in our developmental preschool setting. You will lead classroom staff, implement curricula, and ensure a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment for children birth to age seven.

The role requires collaboration, patience, and effective communication with parents, staff, and therapists.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work with developmentally at-risk children (birth to age 7).

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the classroom.
• Assess each child in his/her classroom using the proper assessment tool.
• Assist in the development of each child’s Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP).
• Review the ITP and make suggestions to the Curriculum Coordinator.
• Ensure the ITP is implemented to maximize the treatment of the children served.
• Refer children for additional clinical services as needed in collaboration with the director and staff.
• Ensure required reports are updated and submitted on time.
• Complete classroom billing via deTASO.
• Maintain classroom supplies.
• Ensure visual supervision of the children at all times.
• Maintain a positive emotional climate for the children.
• Maintain an environment conducive to preventative discipline.
• Speak in a modulated, pleasant and caring voice to children, parents and staff.
• Attend and participate in center functions.
• Represent the program to parents, visitors and the public positively.
• Ensure a clean, safe, healthy and sanitary learning environment and supervise hygiene.
• During physical activity, ensure active involvement to promote motor development.
• Report health and safety concerns to the Assistant Director or Nurse.
• Complete in-service trainings per fiscal year.
• Familiar with policies and AR regulatory guidelines.
• Demonstrate confidentiality of children and employee information.
• May perform housekeeping/janitorial tasks.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.
