Job summary

Clackamas Education Service District is seeking a Preschool Classroom Assistant to support Lead Teachers in Head Start and preschool settings. You will help provide a safe, stimulating learning environment and promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of enrolled children.

Under guidance from the Lead Teacher, you will assist with curriculum implementation, activities, and progress monitoring, while coordinating with families and program staff.

Qualifications

• Supports the Lead Teacher in a preschool setting.
• Maintains safety and supervision of children at all times.
• Communicates with families and staff to support learning.

Responsibilities

• Follow curriculum plans reflecting developmentally appropriate practice.
• Support a consistent daily schedule with group activities and transitions.
• Assist in preparing learning materials and changing centers as needed.
• Promote family involvement through meetings and open communication.
• Document children's progress under supervision of the Lead Teacher.
• Ensure a safe learning environment and active supervision at all times.
• Possess ability to obtain Central Background Registry number.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid credentials as required.
• Demonstrate collaborative skills with agencies, families, and staff.
