Job summary

Brown Christian Academy seeks an enthusiastic Teacher's Assistant for Pre-K2 to Pre-K4. The role supports lead teachers, prepares instructional materials, and helps supervise students to ensure a well-organized, safe classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will have childcare experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to developmental appropriateness. The assistant participates in staff meetings, supports clerical tasks, and collaborates on program activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional child care experience.
• High energy and ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; basic computer skills.
• Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Maintain a personal development plan for continuous quality improvement.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in maintaining a well-organized classroom.
• Support students with exercises and activities, including small groups and individuals.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom for activities.
• Assist in supervising students during bus loading, field trips, meals, and on campus.
• Reinforce classroom lessons and assist with behavior management as directed.
• Maintain student records, attendance, and assist with tests where needed.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings; stay updated on best practices.
