Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Houston, TX is seeking a Preschool Assistant Teacher to work with ISD staff in developing activities for preschool children. You will support the classroom teacher, assist with lesson plans, and help document progress.

The role requires at least some college with CDA-related credentials or enrollment, and the ability to lift light loads and assist in maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Demonstrate ability to adjust vision and motor tasks; operate classroom equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds and move about the classroom as needed.
• Meet minimum education requirements for early childhood education as specified by program acts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing learning materials and activities aligned with lesson plans.
• Provide instructional support to students under teacher guidance.
• Participate in screening, observation and progress documentation in online systems.
• Record and maintain student portfolios and related logs.
• Maintain a clean, orderly classroom environment.
• Follow education and safety policies for children.
• Document in-kind and volunteer time.
• Assist with behavioral/management needs of students.
• Lead in the teacher's absence.
• Perform other duties as required.
