Job summary

Community Action Partnership of Strafford County is seeking a Teacher Aide in Early Care and Education Services to support the Lead Teacher in a preschool setting. You will help implement daily activities, assist with meals, transitions, and supervision, while greeting families and ensuring a safe learning environment.

This part-time, non-exempt role requires a high school diploma or GED, and ideally 9 ECE credits.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED (or actively working on one).
Prefer at least 9 credits in Early Childhood Education (ECE), including child growth & development.
Interest and desire to interact and work with young children.
Prior experience working with children and the commitment to continue training.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to utilize online data systems.

Responsibilities

Assist Lead Teacher with curriculum and daily activities, helping children with meals, bathroom routines, outdoor transitions, and other daily transitions.
Assist with classroom clean-up and active supervision of children at all times.
Communicate with classroom staff and request assistance when unsure of procedures.
Engage with children, provide guidance, and redirect as needed.
Greet parents and children during arrival/departure to ensure smooth transitions.
Follow the schedule set by Lead Teacher and participate in emergency drills.
