Job summary

Sheltering Arms Early Education and Family Centers is seeking a Teacher Aide to assist in caring for groups of children from infant to Pre-K. The role supports the teaching team, promotes healthy habits, and helps with classroom routines and safety.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma/GED and 2+ years in early childhood education; CDA options may be pursued after hire. Training and background checks are required per program standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of Early Childhood Education experience preferred.
• CDA enroll within 12 months of hire or equivalent credential considered.
• Commitment to safety and supportive classroom practices.
• Ability to follow center routines and adapt to various age groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for a group of children as part of a teaching team.
• Support infant to Pre-K classrooms as needed by the scheduling.
• Promote healthy eating and supervise on the playground.
• Assist with hand washing, sanitizing, and cleanliness of rooms.
• Encourage social and emotional development through planned activities.
• Document progress and assist Lead Teacher in assessments.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as required.
• Follow State Licensing, NAEYC, and Head Start standards.
