Job summary

The Goddard School - Milton is seeking an Assistant Director to join the leadership team and educators, creating a positive and engaging learning environment. This full-time role supports the admin team, mentors educators, and collaborates with parents to meet children’s developmental needs in Milton, MA.

Qualifications

• A 2 or 4 year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (will consider current enrollment in pursuit of a degree).
• Previous admin/leadership experience in a childcare or educational setting.
• EEC Certification preferred (DI or higher; Lead Teacher with experience acceptable).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Availability to work between the hours of 7:00am - 6:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support teachers in the program in developing and implementing core and enrichment curriculum.
• Support and/or create class and enrichment schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels per school & state policies.
• Support/lead teacher observations, training, coaching and orientation.
• Support and/or lead state and Goddard admin requirements including children and faculty files, medication & allergy binders, etc.
• Establishing positive and productive relationships with families.
• Understanding and implementing Goddard's Health & Safety procedures.
• Oversee and support classroom functions and operations including daily reports, pictures, Portfolios, etc.
• Communicate appropriately and professionally with both parents and fellow staff members.
• Collaborate with other team members to plan and participate in school events and activities.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines set by the school and state regulations.
• Participate in recommended training programs, conferences and other aspects of professional development.
• Other tasks and projects as assigned

Role Summary:

The Assistant Director at The Goddard School - Milton will have the exciting opportunity to work with the leadership team and educators to create a positive and engaging learning environment. • Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid
• Ability to see and read newsprint, with or without corrective lenses
• Ability to speak and be understood under normal circumstances
• Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use arms, hands, legs, and feet, with or without corrective devices; this includes the ability to evacuate the building during emergencies
• Ability to handle crisis situations, especially where children are involved
• Ability to respond immediately to emergency situations
