Job summary

The Goddard School in Milton, MA is seeking a Lead Toddler Teacher to lead a group of young learners and create a positive, engaging learning environment. You will provide nurturing, safe, high-quality care to toddlers and collaborate with parents and staff to meet developmental needs.

This full-time role offers a competitive salary and performance bonus, with hours roughly 7:00am–6:00pm and opportunities for professional growth in a supportive, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

  • Requires a 2- or 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Experience with toddlers or in childcare/education setting preferred.
  • EEC Certification preferred (will support certification).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Availability to work between 7:00am and 6:00pm.

Role Summary

The Lead Toddler Teacher at The Goddard School - Milton will have the exciting opportunity to lead a group of young learners and create a positive and engaging learning environment. This individual will be responsible for providing nurturing, safe and high-quality care to toddlers, while also collaborating with parents and other team members to ensure children's developmental needs are met. This is a full-time, individual contributor role located in Milton, Massachusetts with a highly competitive salary and performance bonus.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and developmentally appropriate curriculum for toddlers
  • Advance physical and intellectual competencies by adapting program activities to meet needs of the children
  • Create a warm, nurturing, and safe environment for toddlers to learn and grow
  • Communicate appropriately and professionally with both parents and fellow staff members
  • Capture and communicate child's daily activities and progress
  • Collaborate with other team members to plan and participate in school events and activities
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines set by the school and state regulations
  • Continuously engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education
Requirements
  • A 2 or 4 year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (will consider current enrollment in pursuit of a degree)
  • Previous experience working with toddlers or in a childcare or educational setting
  • EEC Certification preferred (will work to get you certified)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Availability to work between the hours of 7:00am - 6:00pm

General Qualifications
  • Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid
  • Ability to see and read newsprint, with or without corrective lenses
  • Ability to speak and be understood under normal circumstances
  • Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use arms, hands, legs, and feet, with or without corrective devices; this includes the ability to evacuate the building during emergencies
  • Ability to handle crisis situations, especially where children are involved
  • Ability to respond immediately to emergency situations
