Job summary

The Learning Experience in Mesa, AZ is hiring Cooks to prepare nutritionally balanced, family-style meals for children. You will follow state guidelines and center budgets, maintain safe storage, and collaborate with a caring team to create a joyful, healthy environment.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, state food handler permit, and experience in licensed childcare or school kitchen settings.

Qualifications

• Must meet state-specific guidelines for childcare kitchen.
• High School Diploma or GED required; ECE coursework preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in licensed childcare facility kitchen or equivalent.
• Valid food service permit or license as required by state/local regulations.
• Comply with health, safety, and vaccination requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, post, and follow approved menus ensuring nutritional balance.
• Maintain inventory records and food orders within budget.
• Prepare and serve meals at appropriate temperatures and containers.
• Maintain safe storage and clean kitchen appliances and counters.
• Follow CACFP guidelines and center procedures as applicable.
• Collaborate with team and support families with outstanding service.
