Job summary

Macomb Montessori Academy, part of Choice Schools Associates, seeks an associate teacher to support the GSRP program and assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for preschool students.

You will help prepare lesson plans, assist with assessments, and communicate with families to involve them in their child’s learning journey. The role emphasizes a nurturing classroom aligned with state licensing standards and teamwork with staff and parents.

Qualifications

• CDA certificate or Associates degree in Early Childhood Development.
• Exemplary work habits verified by reference check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the GSRP Teacher in preparing classroom or laboratory for instruction.
• Collaborate with the GSRP Teacher to prepare lesson plans and distribute materials.
• Participate in Team Teaching and instruct students under supervision.
• Demonstrate understanding of PQA and BCHS licensing rules.
• Maintain individual student records when asked.
• Keep the classroom neat, clean and orderly to support learning.
• Collect and display suitable materials for bulletin boards and educational displays.
• Use resources to support learning activities in the classroom, Academy and community.
• Promote a respectful, engaging learning environment with effective questioning and communication.
• Explain screening assessments to parents and support ongoing development.
• Conduct home visits to build collaboration with families.
