Kidango in San Jose, CA is seeking an Associate Teacher to support classroom operations under the supervision of the Teacher, Master Teacher, or Center Director. The role includes planning daily activities, preparing materials, supervising aides, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for children.

Preferred candidates hold an unexpired Associate Teacher Permit, possess infant/toddler units, and have CPR/First Aid certification. The position offers a competitive hourly wage and benefits.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• 1 year preferred experience with young children.
• Infant/Toddler units required for Infant/Toddler Associate Teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, preparing and implementing daily program.
• Prepare learning environment and materials.
• Perform primary caregiving responsibilities.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Communicate with parents and attend conferences.
• Supervise Teacher Aides, Substitute Teachers and Volunteers.
• Assume responsibilities in absence of lead staff.
• Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing of children.
• Prepare written reports and attend meetings.
• Promote the mission of Kidango.
• Greet children, families and staff.
