Job summary

The Preschool Associate Teacher role at Wonderful Education is dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 2-5. You will support developmentally appropriate practices and assist the lead teacher in daily activities.

Responsibilities include enforcing state regulations, planning age-appropriate lessons, resolving conflicts, and collaborating with staff to foster a child-centered program. CPR/First Aid/AED are required.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
• A.A./A.S. degree preferred.
• Must hold a valid California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit.
• Must have 12 core units of child development and a minimum of 50 days of experience working in an early childhood environment.
• Active pediatric CPR, first aid, and AED certification.

Job Description

The Preschool Associate Teacher embraces the individuality of each student and provides a safe and nurturing environment for all children. The Preschool Associate Teacher is responsible for supporting developmentally appropriate practices in an early childhood setting.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations, as it relates to a Preschool Center in the State of California
• Support planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities across all developmental domains to meet the needs of each child
• Encourage children to solve conflicts on their own
• Interact with children and parents to create a welcoming environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop a "child-centered" program that addresses the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of young children
• Model kindness, consideration, and respect
• Attend and participate in all relevant staff, center, and community meetings, activities, and events

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of Early Childhood Education curriculum
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for ages 2-5
• Knowledge of health, safety, and supervision requirements
• Ability to assist the lead teacher with lesson planning and implementation
• Ability to collaborate with diverse populations
