Job summary

Wonderful College Prep Academy seeks thoughtful, inclusive substitute teachers to lead classrooms in the Central Valley of California and support students and families. You will follow lesson plans, provide instruction, and help maintain a positive, safe learning environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff, flexibility, and strong communication skills to support diverse learners and maintain program quality.

Qualifications

• Meet minimum requirements for a valid California Substitute Teaching Permit.
• Previous substitute teaching, instructional aide, or other relevant experience preferred.
• Organized and self-managed, able to handle many responsibilities simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
• Able to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the classroom for both day-to-day and long-term assignments. Follow lesson plans, implement direct instruction, and behavior management strategies.
• Support classroom tutoring, enrichment, and small group differentiation in literacy and/or mathematics.
• Maintain blended learning data trackers for students to ensure all students are making adequate progress.
• Support campus supervision before, during, and after school dismissal. Follow all school policies and guidelines regarding safe school practices.
