Job summary

KLA Schools Chamblee is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Head Teacher and to assist with daily activities for children in a collaborative classroom. The role includes guiding small groups, maintaining cleanliness, and helping with mealtimes and nap periods.

Ideal candidates are at least 18, hold an associate degree in early childhood education (or higher) and may have a CDA. A strong commitment to safety and developmentally appropriate practice is essential.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Associate’s degree in early childhood education or higher.
• 45 Hours of Childcare Training completed.
• CDA certification is preferred.
• Background screening must be cleared.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Teacher and support daily activities with children.
• Work with small groups of children with varying abilities, including those with special needs.
• Keep classrooms and bathrooms clean and organized.
• Assist with lunch preparation and serving; monitor food temperature.
• Prepare lunchboxes and organize nap area.
• Support drop-off and dismissal times.
• Attend meetings as needed.
• Follow health, safety, and operating procedures.
