Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. in Danbury is hiring a full-time Preschool Assistant Teacher for Head Start/Preschool classrooms of 14–20 children.

You will assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate activities, supporting a safe, inclusive learning environment, and helping with daily routines. This role emphasizes teamwork, family outreach, and documentation; candidates should have a CDA or 12 ECE credits, and Head Start experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• CDA certificate or 12 ECE credits required.
• AA or BA preferred.
• Head Start or Preschool experience preferred.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
• 18+ years old or older.
• Driver’s license strongly preferred.
• Basic computer literacy in email, word processing and internet navigation.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certification if required.

Responsibilities

• Planning and preparation of activities for preschool children.
• Program implementation and daily classroom routines.
• Family partnership building and parent communication.
• Communication and service coordination with staff and families.
• Record keeping and documentation of child progress.
• Ongoing monitoring and self-assessment of program quality.
