Job summary

Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde is hiring for a Head Start position to support preschoolers aged 3 to 5. The role focuses on developing and implementing developmentally appropriate curricula with active parental involvement and Policy Council approval.

You will assist with meals, activities, and field trips while maintaining a nurturing classroom that adapts to each child’s growth. The candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year Head Start experience, and be on track to obtain

Qualifications

• Requires High School or GED and at least 1 year of Head Start experience.
• Must be at least a Step 5 in the Oregon Registry Online (ORO) and obtain a CDA certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing curriculum that is developmentally appropriate with parental involvement and Policy Council approval.
• Assist in preparation, implementation, and cleanup of meals, educational and cultural activities.
• Maintain classroom environment and ensure curriculum fidelity to promote student growth.
• Provide supervisor with information to document and track student development and growth.
• Supervise in classroom, on playground, and during field trips; lead when supervisor is absent.
• Oversee aftercare programming if required.
• Organize, replenish, and prepare materials for activities.
• Observe children's interactions and identify preferences and participation levels.
