Good Shepherd Preschool Academy in Frankfort, KY is seeking a Preschool Assistant Teacher to support early childhood education. You will assist with hands-on activities, help maintain a safe, inviting classroom, and collaborate with teachers to nurture each child's curiosity and growth.

Assist with hands-on learning activities that meet the needs, interests, and developmental
levels of the children.
Maintain open and positive communication with parents, sharing their child’s daily
experiences, milestones, and accomplishments.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom by following all required procedures
and guidelines.
Provide classroom support and teaching coverage in various classrooms and age groups
as needed.
Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to provide a positive and nurturing
environment for every child.
Hours Monday – Friday 7 am – 3 pm.
Candidates must successfully complete all required state and Diocese of Lexington background
checks and meet applicable state and diocesan education and experience requirements.
Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.
One year of experience working in childcare, daycare, preschool, or a related setting is
preferred but not required.
A genuine love of working with young children and a commitment to their growth and
development.
This position requires the employee to comply with all applicable federal, state, local, Good
Shepherd Preschool Academy, and diocesan requirements concerning immunizations,
employment physicals/screenings, and health and safety training.
The employee must be able to:
Frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing approximately 40 pounds or less and
occasionally lift, carry, or hold children or other items weighing more than 40 pounds.
Demonstrate a full range of motion, including the ability to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit,
and fully participate in activities with children.
Respond quickly and appropriately to multiple, unexpected, or emergency situations.
Maintain the mental and physical alertness and energy necessary to perform the essential
functions of the position.
