Job summary

Archdiocese of St. Louis invites applicants for a Preschool Aide at All Saints Academy-St. Ferdinand. You will support the Preschool Teacher in creating a safe, faith-centered, developmentally appropriate classroom for young children.

The role focuses on helping with daily activities, supervising students, and promoting social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development in line with Catholic values, while maintaining a welcoming environment and collaborating with families and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience working with preschool-age children in a school, childcare, or similar setting preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with young children in a caring, patient, and positive manner.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to supporting the mission, values, and teachings of Catholic education.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Preschool Teacher with implementing daily classroom activities and lesson plans.
• Support students in learning through play, hands-on activities, and structured instruction.
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized classroom environment.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and other school events as assigned.
• Encourage positive behavior and model respectful interactions consistent with Catholic values.
• Assist students with personal care needs as appropriate, including hygiene, snacks, and transitions throughout the day.
• Prepare and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and instructional resources.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and assist with routine housekeeping duties.
• Support the teacher in monitoring student progress and reporting concerns regarding student well-being or development.
• Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and families to support student success.
• Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and child protection requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities as required.
