AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School in Washington, DC is seeking a Part-time After Care Teacher to join the extended day program. Qualifications

• Energetic, reliable, integrity-driven with strong communication with staff, parents and children.
• Experience developing/leading activities for children aged 3-5 preferred.
• Paraprofessional credentials or current college students encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Establishes rich, engaging extended-day learning environments.
• Supports extended day alignment with regular day curriculum with staff.
• Creates safe, clean, attractive extended day spaces.
• Ensures sufficient supplies and materials for all children.
• Encourages children’s ownership and contributions to the program.
• Supports diverse learners with remediation and differentiation.
• Fosters community and acceptance during extended day.
• Develops activities for early literacy, language, math, science, social studies.
• Plans collaborative work with the extended day team and participates in PD.
• Completes paperwork, communicates with parents/principals, supervises enrichment activities.
