Preschool 4s Lead Teacher Job Description

A Preschool 4s Lead Teacher is passionate about supporting the children and teachers of the Preschool as they live out the Forsyth Country Day School’s mission of preparing our children for what’s ahead. The preschool lead teacher will be responsible for fostering growth in all domains of development, including Social/Emotional, Language/Literacy, Math/Logical Reasoning, Physical (fine and gross motor), and Adaptive Skills. Teachers are committed to professional and personal growth and value every member of the community. This is a 12-month position, M-F 7:45-3:45.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Models and instills a love of learning
2. Provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth
3. Utilizes various data sources to drive instruction, support planning, and set developmental goals, including assessments and parent conferences
4. Employs diverse teaching methods, including individual and small group instruction, to meet students' varying needs
5. Identifies student needs and collaborates with staff to support health, behavioral, and learning needs
6. Builds strong partnerships with families and communicates regularly about student progress and classroom events
7. Participates in all relevant meetings and professional development activities
8. Maintains professionalism and positive attitude with students, colleagues, and the community
9. Pursues knowledge of best teaching practices and student development

Qualifications:

Essential Functions

• Regularly walk, talk, hear, reach, and occasionally lift/move up to 15 pounds
• Operate a computer and utilize Google Workspace
• Access and navigate all school areas and facilities
