Job summary

RRD is seeking a detail-oriented Prepress Operator 1 to prepare, review, and process files for digital and offset printing. You will coordinate with Customer Service, Planners, and Production to ensure accuracy, color, stock, and finishing specs are met.

Responsibilities include file preparation, imposition decisions, color matching, plate-making, inventory tracking, and cross-training across prepress and production teams. This role requires strict adherence to safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Understanding of digital and offset printing workflows.
• Ability to review files for accuracy and readiness for print.
• Familiarity with prepress, desktop publishing, and PDF-processing software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and download electronic files for digital and offset printing.
• Review files for accuracy, completeness, and print-readiness.
• Use prepress software to prepare files for production.
• Determine layouts and impositions based on stock and requirements.
• Verify job specifications against files and tickets.
• Identify issues and coordinate with teams to resolve before production.
• Send files to appropriate printers based on color and finishing requirements.
• Make color and file adjustments to meet specs.
• Maintain and operate offset plate-making equipment.
• Load and replace plate material as needed.
• Collaborate with Customer Service on production needs.
• Ensure files are correctly prepared before release to production.
