Job summary

B & G Industries Inc in Watertown, SD is seeking a Prepper for night shift to prepare surfaces on bodies and parts to be painted or powder coated by painting staff. This full-time position includes a $3.00 per hour shift differential.

You will review orders, perform paint prep per factory specs, mask panels, and ensure surfaces are ready for primer and paint. The role requires manual dexterity, ability to sit or stand for long periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Assists with problem solving to keep equipment on schedule for delivery and adheres to safety procedures.

Job summary:

Responsibilities:

Thoroughly reviews each order prior to beginning work. Completes all paint preparation processes for equipment according to factory specifications. Knows how to properly sand and prep for paint, and new parts. Knows how to properly sand and featheredge surface for primer. Able to mask all panels and cover surface to minimize tapelines and overspray. Knows status of assigned equipment and helps problem solving on getting and keeping all equipment on schedule for delivery. Consistently utilizes all required safe equipment and follows proper refinishing procedures. Adheres to all requirements hazardous waste disposal. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Skills:

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive tasks, and manual dexterity. Vision abilities required include close, distance, and depth perception. Reaching above and below shoulder level. Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, high level of dust and noise. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements:

Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect product. Must be able to lift-up to 50 lbs. periodically.
