Job summary

B & G Industries Inc is hiring a Prepper for the day shift in Watertown, SD. The role involves preparing surfaces on bodies and parts to be painted or powder coated by the painting staff.

The position is non-exempt with a 10-hour shift from Monday to Thursday and overtime as assigned. The candidate will follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly reviews each order before starting work.
• Performs all paint preparation processes per specifications.
• Partially sands and feathers edges for primer compatibility.
• Masks panels and protects surfaces to minimize overspray.
• Maintains equipment status and supports on-time delivery.
• Maintains clean, organized workspace and adheres to disposal rules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job: Prepper – Day hours

Classification: Non-exempt

Schedule: 10-hour shift, Monday – Thursday. Overtime as assigned.

Job summary: This position will prepare surfaces on bodies and parts to be painted/power coated by painting staff.

Responsibilities: Thoroughly reviews each order prior to beginning work. Completes all paint preparation processes for equipment according to factory specifications. Knows how to properly sand and prep for paint. Knows how to properly sand and featheredge surface for primer. Able to mask all panels and cover surface to minimize tapelines and overspray. Knows status of assigned equipment and helps problem solving on getting and keeping all equipment on schedule for delivery. Consistently utilizes all required safe equipment and follows proper refinishing procedures. Adheres to all requirements hazardous waste disposal. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Skills: Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive tasks, and manual dexterity. Vision abilities required include close, distance, and depth perception. Reaching above and below shoulder level. Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, high level of dust and noise. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements: Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect product. Must be able to lift-up to 50 lbs. periodically.
