Job summary

River Valley Co-op is seeking a Prepared Foods Manager to oversee the prepared foods department, drive sales and margins, and lead deli and kitchen staff across locations. You will partner with other managers to align purchasing, pricing, and product offerings while maintaining high standards of customer service.

You will supervise shifts, train staff, conduct evaluations, and ensure compliance with health regulations, safety, and labeling procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience running a restaurant, food service, catering, or deli.
• Supervisory experience--hiring, training, evaluating, directing.
• Familiarity with natural foods.
• Ability to read department financial reports
• Communication skills--good listener, clear instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and consistently work in close quarters with others.
• Regular, predictable attendance; willingness to work a minimum of one weekend shift and one closing shift per week.
• Certified Food Safety Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee prepared foods department to meet sales, margin, labor, and customer service goals.
• Partner with Prepared Foods Managers to ensure alignment and consistency in purchasing and product offerings.
• Attend marketing meetings to plan promotions and storewide merchandising.
