Job summary

• Thorough product knowledge.
• Able to prepare multiple recipes per shift based on batch size.
• Capable of accessing market conditions and communicating to customers.
• Understands spoilage and waste and how it affects department profits.
• Knowledge of merchandising expectations within the department.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to deliver information clearly to customers, vendors and team members.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with production for all Prepared Foods venues.
• Ensure all prepared foods are labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated.
• Verify product meets WFM guidelines for quality and preparation.
• Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms.
• Follow recipes and use correct measuring devices for production.
• Help customers understand differences between WFM and other stores.
• Keep walk-ins and freezers clean and organized.
• Be on time for shifts, groomed and ready to work; attend trainings.
• Provide excellent customer service and practice suggestive selling; answer phones promptly.
• Maximize sales through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follow health, sanitation, weights and measures, and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work and shopping environment; care for equipment.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties; ensure pricing is accurate.
• Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
