Job summary

Whole Foods Market is hiring Team Members to handle preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of products. You will assist with Prepared Foods, ensure proper labeling and rotation, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards on the floor and in back areas.

Qualifications

• Thorough product knowledge.
• Ability to prepare multiple recipes per shift based on batch size.
• Capable of accessing market condition information and communicating it to customers.
• Understands spoilage and waste and their impact on department profits.
• Working knowledge of merchandising expectations within the department.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to deliver information clearly to Team Members, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues.
• Ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated.
• Ensures product meets WFM guidelines for quality and preparation.
• Documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms.
• Ensures product production uses correct measuring devices and recipes are followed.
• Helps customers understand the difference between WFM products and conventional store products.
• Keeps walk-ins and freezers clean and well-organized.
• Arrives on time, groomed, and ready to work; covers scheduled shifts and trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs promptly, and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safety practices.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment; maintains equipment per cleanliness and safety standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures pricing and signs are accurate.
• Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
