Job summary

Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. in Chattanooga is seeking a Team Member for Prepared Foods to support production, labeling, dating, and rotation of products while upholding health and safety standards.

You will deliver friendly service, help customers distinguish Whole Foods Market products, maintain clean work areas and assist with opening, mid, and closing duties. No prior retail experience required; willingness to learn in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of products.
• Ability to plan and prepare the required number of recipes per shift based on batch size.
• Ability to access market information and communicate it to customers.
• Understanding of spoilage and waste and its impact on department profits.
• Knowledge of merchandising expectations within the department.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues.
• Ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated.
• Ensures product meets WFM guidelines for quality and preparation.
• Documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms.
• Ensures product production uses correct measuring devices and recipes are followed.
• Helps customers understand the difference between WFM products and products at conventional stores.
• Keeps walk-ins and freezers clean and organized.
• Arrives on time, groomed, dressed and ready to work; attends required trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs promptly, and uses suggestive selling techniques; answers phones and pages promptly.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures pricing/signs are accurate.
• Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
