Job summary

Hunger Mountain Co-op in Montpelier, VT, is seeking a Prepared Foods Assistant Manager to support the Prepared Foods Manager with scheduling, payroll, ordering, data entry, member sales and staff lists.

You will supervise and train department staff, assist with hiring and performance evaluations, manage purchasing and pricing in Catapult, ensure proper labeling, and maintain equipment across deli, cheese and Beer & Wine.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers promptly and courteously.
• Ensure proper labeling and pricing of items.
• Assist Prepared Foods Manager in scheduling and training staff.
• Delegate work priorities for department staff when needed.
• Participate in hiring and performance evaluations.
• Assist with bi-weekly payroll.
• Oversee purchasing and inventory, update pricing in Catapult.
• Review invoices for accuracy and submit for payment.
• Provide pricing indexes and comparisons to manager.
• Program and maintain scales for accurate pricing and scanning.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and inform manager when needed.
