Job summary

City Market, Onion River Co-op is seeking an Assistant Prepared Foods Manager to oversee the Prepared Foods department across all locations. You will manage daily operations for sandwich bar, hot/cold bars, deli, cheeses, pastries, coffee stations, and catering, ensuring products are tasty, fresh, and attractive.

You will supervise staff, handle hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and corrective actions, aligning with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical/culinary school.
• Minimum of 3 years retail or related management experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of kitchen management experience including hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and developing staff.
• Knowledge of production-oriented kitchen operations and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily department operations in collaboration with Prepared Foods Manager and Executive Chef.
• Adhere to City Market policies, ensure safe working environment, report safety concerns.
• Follow Employee Guide and Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Support City Market’s Ends, Values, Co-op Principles, and Diversity Statement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
