Job Description

The Springs Resort and Spa in Pagosa Springs, CO, is seeking a dedicated Prep/Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking dishes to standard, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation. Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced environments, work well under pressure, and have a passion for quality food.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning.
  • Make sauces, stocks, and foundational dish components.
  • Label, store, and rotate ingredients following FIFO principles.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas and kitchen equipment.
Line Cook Duties
  • Cook and plate dishes according to recipes and standards.
  • Work efficiently at designated stations (grill, sauté, fry, pantry).
  • Keep workstation and tools clean and organized.
  • Coordinate with team members for smooth service.
  • Monitor food quality and adjust as needed.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality management degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Customer-focused attitude and ability to handle multiple tasks.
