Job summary

Monarch Landing is seeking a hospitality-focused part-time Prep Cook in Naperville, IL. The role covers hands-on production cooking in the Community Culinary Services Department and requires maintaining high quality service and cleanliness.

Essentials include a HS diploma or GED, 6+ months of high-volume prep experience, ServSafe or equivalent certification within 90 days, and knowledge of kitchen equipment and knife handling. Flu vaccination is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of high-volume food prep in a hotel/restaurant/club.
• ServSafe (or equivalent) sanitation certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Set up station according to daily production needs.
• Prepare ingredients for meals including chopping and measuring.
• Label and store inventory properly.
• Assist in meal prep for breakfast, lunch, dinner and events.
• Follow proper handling and holding guidelines; monitor temperatures.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and cleaning schedules.

Our prep cook hours are 10am-6:30pm. We pay $18/hour.

Monarch Landing is recruiting for a hospitality-focused part-time Prep Cook to join our team! This position is responsible for full-scope, hands-on production cooking in the Community Culinary Services Department. Is responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sets up station according to daily production needs.
2. Prepares the ingredients for meals including chopping fruits and vegetables, preparing meats, and measuring items.
3. Labels and puts away inventory.
4. Assists in preparing food products as scheduled in the cycle menu to include breakfast, lunch, and dinner service and any catering or other special functions
5. Follows proper handling, preparation, and holding guidelines, takes temperatures at regular intervals, and maintains foods in sufficient quantities while minimizing over-production and waste.
6. Follows kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
