Job summary

Main Street Grill is seeking a motivated Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This position requires a strong work ethic, problem‑solving and time management skills, and an enthusiastic, teachable attitude.

You will assist in preparation of all types of food items, work as part of a team, help clean and maintain the kitchen, and report equipment needs. We offer comprehensive training, a monthly meal discount card to all Happy Day locations, medical and dental insurance, 401(k) with company

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a reputable restaurant or hotel that is culinary and hospitality driven
• A strong work ethic and commitment to uncompromising quality
• A team‑oriented approach and a calm demeanor during time‑sensitive tasks
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully
• Willingness to cross‑train into other areas and Happy Day restaurants
• Maintain high standards for work areas and appearance
• Maintain a positive attitude and commitment to excellence
• Must be flexible with scheduling, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Access to reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of all types of food items while following recipes
• Work as a team player
• Assist in cleaning the whole kitchen area, kitchen equipment, refrigerators, freezers, and storage area
• Advise supervisor of kitchen equipment repair or replacement
• Properly utilize, store, and label cooked food and food items
• Check computer printout for menu amounts and recipes. Report any discrepancies to supervisor. Submit food usage report to supervisor.
• Any other related kitchen duties as assigned by a supervisor.
