Job description

Position Summary

A prep cook plays a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting in the preparation of ingredients and basic cooking tasks. They support the kitchen team in Concessions and/or Catering by ensuring that all necessary items are ready for chefs to create delicious dishes. This role demands attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Position assists with set-up, dishes and is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace in accordance with company specifications. Must be able to maintain excellent attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $21 to $22.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cooking and packaging food products which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
  • Receives verbal orders from the front counter staff for food product requirements for guest orders.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items. Food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests.
  • Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served in the concession stand.
  • Responsible for cleaning, stocking, and restocking of workstations and displays.
  • Responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, and ovens.
  • Ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away, and floor is swept and mopped at end of shift.
  • Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
  • Practices professionalism in all interactions with guests and coworkers.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience working in a kitchen environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Culinary training or certification is a plus but not required.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
