Job summary

Snelling Staffing Lexington is looking for a dependable kitchen associate to maintain clean work areas, equipment and utensils, and to support overall food service operations.

Responsibilities include sweeping and mopping floors, washing surfaces, handling trash, moving supplies, and setting up banquet tables in a fast-paced environment. Must comply with sanitation and safety rules; lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's using money, weight, volume, and distance.

SUMMARY:

Maintains kitchen work areas and equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sweeps and mops kitchen floors.

Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.

Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.

Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.

Transfers supplies, equipment and food between storage and work areas.

Sets up banquet tables.

Loads or unloads trucks picking up or delivering supplies and food.

Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.

Complies with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.

Other duties may be assigned.
