Qualifications

• Experience as pantry, prep, or line cook in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant.
• Experience with fresh products preferred.
• Minimum 100 covers per shift.
• Must be able to taste – distinguish flavors, temperatures, and aromas.
• Must work in environment with extreme temperatures, noise, and fumes.
• Must use cut gloves for safety.
• Must communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates.
• Ability to read recipes in English.
• Position may require nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must lift, handle, and carry up to 50 pounds; stand up to 8 hours.
• Must bend, kneel, and reach to receive and store stock and work the line.
• Maintains good grooming habits.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work on time and is on the prep station as indicated on the work schedule.
• Prepares food to specifications before, during, and after hours of operations.
• Preps all food to ensure items are prepared according to company specs, recipes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Retrieves food products and other items from storage areas necessary for preparation.
• Prepare equipment, small wares, plate ware, food ingredients, garnishes and supplies for the station; reports problems to Sous Chef/Exec Chef.
• Rotates and restocks pantry items, condiments, plateware, smallwares, equipment and supplies; maintains FIFO and backup levels.
• Checks par and stock levels of all salad ingredients, cold appetizers, desserts, condiments, garnishes, equipment, and service ware before shifts.
• Assists other kitchen personnel in food preparation and side work.
• Completes all station closing duties; assists team in closing and kitchen cleanliness.
• Maintains sanitation and food safety across work areas; reports unsafe conditions.
• Uniforms are clean and meet restaurant requirements; maintains personal hygiene.
• Performs duties with safety in mind and reports unsafe acts, accidents, or injuries.
