Job summary

Treehouse Silicon Valley is seeking a part-time Prep Cook to join our culinary team. You’ll assist with ingredient prep, stock, mise en place, and quality control to help deliver high-quality dishes across our venues, including the Valley Goat restaurant.

The role emphasizes organization, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen. Previous kitchen experience is a plus, and training is available for motivated candidates in a collaborative, nature-inspired environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knife skills and a strong understanding of fundamental food preparation techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and food processors.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.
• A willingness to learn and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to assist with a variety of tasks across the kitchen.
• Previous kitchen experience is a plus, training is available for motivated candidates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, proteins, and sauces according to recipe standards.
• Execute foundational cooking tasks, including roasting, blanching, and making stocks or doughs.
• Assist with mise en place preparation to ensure readiness for service.
• Organize and store food items properly, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, tools, and workspaces to ensure a safe and efficient kitchen environment.
• Support the line team by preparing and replenishing mise en place during busy periods.
• Receive and check deliveries, properly labeling and storing inventory.
