Job summary

River Terrace Inn is seeking a part-time Prep Cook/Dishwasher to support a fast-paced kitchen in Napa Valley. You will prepare ingredients, keep the kitchen area clean, and assist cooks with basic tasks while maintaining high sanitation standards. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is important.

Qualifications

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety.
• Reliable, team-oriented attitude.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Basic knife skills, willingness to learn, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior kitchen experience is helpful but not always required.

Responsibilities

• Support the kitchen by preparing ingredients and keeping the workspace clean and organized.
• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables, portion ingredients, and assist cooks with basic food preparation tasks.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, maintain sanitation standards, and keep dish and prep areas clean.
• At the end of the day, perform deep cleaning of stations, take out trash, and restock supplies for the next service.

A day in the life...

The Prep Cook/Dishwasher involves supporting the kitchen by preparing ingredients and keeping the workspace clean and organized. Duties include washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assisting cooks with basic food preparation tasks. Throughout the shift, the role also focuses on washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, maintaining sanitation standards, and keeping dish and prep areas clean. At the end of the day, responsibilities include deep cleaning stations, taking out trash, and restocking supplies to prepare the kitchen for the next service.
