Overview

Why We Need Your Talents:

A Prep Cook is responsible for providing a supportive role to kitchen staff in the preparation of meals and ingredients. Food preparation, cooking, and cleaning tasks ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering a favorable dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities

Where You'll Make an Impact:

  • Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats.
  • Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients.
  • Preparation of all raw and cooked foods.
  • Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards to ensure guest safety.
  • Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash, and sanitizing the kitchen.
  • Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with staff to order resupply.
  • Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Head Chef or other kitchen manager.
Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

  • Ability to communicate in English and fluently in either Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, or another Asian language.

A Few Must-Haves:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.
  • One (1) year of kitchen experience needed, preferably in an Asian restaurant. On-the-job training may be available.
  • Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods without sitting or leaning.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach while carrying food products, equipment, and trash/waste weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and deliver food items weighing up to 50 pounds throughout a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to work around 500-degree ovens and within 40-degree walk-in refrigerators.
  • Ability to stand and walk continually throughout a 10-hour shift.
