Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife is seeking a Kitchen Helper for on-site food service. You will store and prepare meals, follow approved recipes, and assist cooks to deliver hot and cold meals to residents each day.

The role requires at least one year of direct food service experience and hands-on ability. You will stock, clean, and support daily meal preparation in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• At least one year of direct food service experience.
• Hands-on experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Store food in proper containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
• Prepare a variety of dishes according to supervisor instructions and approved procedures.
• Pack hot meals daily for morning delivery.
• Package cold meals for the next day’s service.
• Place food trays over food warmers for immediate service or store in refrigerators.
• Check supplies and inform supervisor when supplies are low or any equipment is not working.
• Follow assigned recipes.
• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with tasks and provide needed items.
• Stock shelves and refrigerators and put away deliveries.
• Use manual or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foods.
