The Popal Group is a growing family-driven boutique hospitality group setting the standard for DC dining through ambitious restaurant concepts. We are currently seeking an experienced AM cook to join our kitchen team at Maison. We are a small restaurant, aiming to be the 'neighborhood' place sought out by locals and travelers alike.

Position Overview

As a Prep Cook at Maison, you'll be a key part of a team serving modern French cuisine with a contemporary twist. Your role involves preparing dishes that align with our culinary vision of fresh, flavorful, and visually appealing food inspired by European and NYC wine bars.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare fresh ingredients, sauces, and components for dishes according to modern French recipes.
  • Support the kitchen during service by maintaining a clean and organized prep area.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of ingredients, respecting portion sizes and plating standards.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with supply orders as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and adhere to health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in restaurant kitchens.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledge of French culinary techniques and modern food trends.
  • Passion for food and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
