Job summary

Sundance is hiring a PREP COOK to support our culinary team. The role involves timely, sanitary food prep, following daily prep lists, and maintaining a clean workstation in a fast-paced resort kitchen.

This position is 30 hours per week (part-time) or 40 hours (full-time) with a starting pay of $20.00 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, and employee discounts on dining and resort amenities.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level kitchen position; no prior experience required.
  • Must obtain a food handler's permit within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow directions on the daily prep list.
  • Prepare foods in the correct quantity and preparation style as shown by a supervisor.
  • Properly season and taste food preparation to meet the standard set by a supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace and organize tasks to complete them timely.
  • Organize and store food deliveries daily under supervisor direction.
  • Basic knife skills and proper handling techniques.
  • Read and follow basic recipe directions from standard kitchen recipes.
  • Know how to operate kitchen equipment (stove, oven, fryer, pans, pots, blenders, mixers).
  • Label and date food prep (FIFO).
  • Store prepared foods correctly and in the right location.
  • Follow cleaning procedures for kitchen equipment as outlined by supervisor.
  • Support recycling for metals and plastics; minimize waste.
  • Clean kitchen prep areas before checkout with supervisor.
  • May assist in Employee Café or other outlets as directed.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment.

Job Title: PREP COOK
Rate of Pay: $20.00/hour
Shift: Monday through Sunday Flexibility Desired
7:00AM until 5:00 PM
Part Time (30 hrs/week) or Full Time (40 hrs/week)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Summary:

Provide support to the culinary team by properly preparing food items in a timely manner and in a sanitary environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and follow directions on the daily prep list.
  • Prepare foods in the correct quantity and preparation style as shown to you by a supervisor.
  • Properly season and taste food preparation to ensure it meet the correct standard set by a supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace. Organization of your tasks to complete them in a timely manner.
  • Organize and store food deliveries daily. Following the direction of your supervisor.
  • Basic knife skills and proper handling techniques are used.
  • Read and follow basic recipe directions from the standard kitchen recipes.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment such as: Stove, oven, fryer, pans, pots, blenders, mixers and whatever other equipment is needed.
  • Properly label and date food preparation (FIFO – First in, First out)
  • Store prepared foods in the correct location and manner.
  • Follow proper cleaning procedures for kitchen equipment as outlined by your supervisor.
  • Support recycling for metal and plastic in all abilities.
  • Minimize food waste in preparation.
  • Clean kitchen prep areas in entirety PRIOR to checking out with your supervisor to leave.
  • May assist in the Employee Café or other food outlets as directed.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment.
Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of commercial kitchens and food production preferred.
  • Must obtain a food handler's permit within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, and tasting.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs., frequently up to 100 lbs., and occasionally over 100 lbs.
Work Environment:
  • Frequent exposure to moving equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to humidity, extreme temperatures, outdoor conditions, electrical hazards, and vibrations.
  • Moderate noise level.
