Redwood Cove Healthcare Center in Ukiah, California is seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This role supports food preparation, maintains kitchen cleanliness, and upholds food safety standards in a residential care setting.

The position offers a 40-hour week, Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with pay starting at $17 per hour. We value teamwork, reliability, and a commitment to high-quality meals for our residents.

Qualifications

• Experience as prep cook or kitchen assistant preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and culinary terminology.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation principles, with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes.
• Prepare food items in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards, ensuring freshness and flavor.
• Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to maintain consistency and minimize waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper storage and handling of food products.
• Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and replenishing supplies as needed.
• Support the culinary team during meal service, including plating and garnishing dishes as directed.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
