Join to apply for the Prep Cook role at Guckenheimer.

Guckenheimer offers full-time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is $20 per hour - $24 per hour.

The work hours for this position are approximately 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Mon-Fri.

Key Purpose

The Prep Cook will accurately and efficiently fulfill prep lists, tasks, and food preparation for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events. Responsibilities may vary based on business needs and client requirements.

Success Criteria
  • Maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness to ensure a safe environment for all employees and guests.
  • Follow workplace safety, food safety, HACCP, and internal audit guidelines daily.
  • Work safely with culinary equipment such as slicers, mixers, food processors, blenders, and choppers.
  • Possess at least 1-year professional cooking experience or equivalent education.
Key Accountabilities
  • Clock in and out for work and breaks.
  • Provide high-quality service according to company and client standards.
  • Follow food preparation procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Execute recipe preparation as directed by production sheets or chefs.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment, following safety and regulatory rules.
  • Report ingredient discrepancies, safety issues, or other concerns to management.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Use team lifts and transportation carts for heavy loads.
  • Dress appropriately according to dress code.
  • Work effectively under pressure during peak times.
