Job summary

Blair Hill Inn, a Relais & Châteaux property overlooking Moosehead Lake, is seeking a reliable and passionate Prep Cook to join our Slate Restaurant team for the season. You’ll help prepare fresh, locally inspired ingredients and work closely with our culinary team to deliver exceptional hospitality.

Ideal candidates have kitchen or prep experience or are eager to learn, with a strong work ethic and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred, but training available.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to stand long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work flexible daytime and afternoon shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for daily service including vegetables, proteins, sauces, stocks and desserts.
• Follow recipes and prep lists with consistency and attention to detail.
• Assist with receiving, rotating and storing deliveries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
• Support chefs with kitchen tasks and ensure food safety standards.

Slate Restaurant at Blair Hill Inn is seeking a reliable, organized, and passionate Prep Cook to join our culinary team for the season. Working alongside our talented chefs, you'll help prepare the fresh, locally inspired ingredients that define the dining experience at our Relais & Châteaux property overlooking Moosehead Lake.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a professional kitchen, takes pride in craftsmanship, and wants to be part of a supportive team committed to exceptional hospitality.

What You'll Do

• Prepare ingredients for daily dinner service, including vegetables, proteins, sauces, stocks, and desserts

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
• Support chefs with additional kitchen tasks as needed
• Help ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met
