Job summary

SSP America is hiring a Prep Cook for our Commissary location serving the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The role requires preparing items, maintaining the station, and ensuring stock and cleanliness at all times.

You'll follow recipes, manage perishables, and assist with opening/closing checklists. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, vacation accrual, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in a food service environment.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Food handlers permit as required by law.

Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes and control portions to prepare, garnish, and present items.
  • Maintain setup of the kitchen/station and stock required supplies.
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
  • Complete opening, in-shift, and closing prep sheets and checklists.
  • Inform the manager immediately of product shortages.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment to health standards.
  • Perform general duties as assigned.

Job description

Join Our Team as a Prep Cook at our Commissary Warehouse Location for the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport! This Prep Cook position will be located in our Commissary location at 9844 40th Ave S, Seattle, WA, 98118.

Our Prep Cooks are experts at a few things:

  • Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items.
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all required food, paper products, and condiments
  • Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.
  • Follow and complete all items required as listed on shiftly prep-sheet.
  • Responsible for set-up, regular maintenance, cleaning, and break-down of any machinery and equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storage of all perishables daily to ensure product quality.
  • Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required.
  • Inform the manager immediately of product shortages.
  • Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements
  • Minimum one year experience working in food service environment is essential.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Food handlers permit as required by law.
  • Verbal and written communication is essential. Able to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time
