Job summary

SSP America in Newark, NJ is hiring a Prep Cook for our airport restaurant team. You’ll set up the kitchen, ensure tools and ingredients are ready, and support a smooth service in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least 1 year of prep cook experience in a high-volume back-of-house operation. We offer full-time hours, competitive wages, paid training, and a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ years of prep cook experience in a high-volume back-of-house environment.
• Experience maintaining kitchen setup and stock control.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station on a daily basis.
• Requisition and stock all required food, paper products, and condiments.
• Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
• Responsible for set-up, regular maintenance, cleaning, and breakdown of machinery and equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storage of all perishables daily to ensure product quality.
• Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
