ACC Senior Services in Sacramento is hiring a Prep Cook to support cooks in menu prep and service, while maintaining cleanliness and proper food handling.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a food handler card within 30 days, and strong English communication skills to interact with residents and staff, with duties extending to event support and temperature logs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain a food handler card within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of food handling and food preparation.
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills required.
• Must have basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preparing all food items & following proper recipes and procedures.
• Ensures all food items are prepared in a timely fashion to ensure freshness.
• Meets with Culinary Services Manager & Cooks per menu prep & recipes.
• Ensures kitchen is always clean & sanitary.
• Monitors all storage areas for proper labeling, dating, cleanliness & organization.
• Assists with planning and preparing special events.
• Tracks all production and temperature logs.
• Attends assigned meetings as required.
• Provide a high level of customer service to both residents and team members.
• May assist with cooking or additional duties as needed.

General Summary

The Prep Cook assists the cooks in the preparation and service of menu items and performs additional duties as assigned as well as cleaning duties.
